Introducing San Francisco

“If you’re going to San Francisco, be sure to wear some flowers in your hair” – the soulful lyrics sung by Scott McKenzie. In just a short sentence, this song encapsulates the spirit of the city. San Francisco is famous for many things. The San Francisco Giants, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, just to name a few. But its most legendary accolade is the counterculture hippie movement which happened in the 1960s, an important era in time when forerunners of Bohemianism fought for women’s rights and gay rights. This incredible Northern California city still promotes an open mind to this day and with its pretty bicycle filled streets, its hilly landscape and its cool foodie culture, San Fran really is a wonderful place to be.
