I have a huge passion for travel and am delighted to share that passion with you through Travelosophers, taking away the slog and leaving you nothing but great memories.
After building my own business in property lettings for 20 years, I sold this to a large UK corporation then made the career change into the exciting travel industry 10 years ago although the travel bug bit me long before that.
I have experienced so many wonderful destinations from the white sands of the Maldives to the wonder of Machu Pichu, from Whale Sharks in the Philippines to Koalas in the outback but also the simplicity of a Greek beach, the natural splendour of a Norwegian Fjord and the beauty of a historic Italian town. I have seen so much potential for a great holiday and/or life experience.
Having organised and completed my own personal ‘world tour’ just recently, visiting destinations that I hadn’t seen before, I know the importance of getting things right as well.
So whatever your holiday choice, whether it be Scuba diving in The Maldives, enjoying a family holiday in The Med, a cruise, a road trip in the USA or a romantic weekend away. I’m here to help.
Brazil offers so much more than football and coffee, the two things that most people think of when Brazil is mentioned.
It offers fun, excitement and adventure.
Everybody knows of Rio De Janeiro but very few have experienced its charm, excitement and edginess. From the iconic Christ the Redeemer high up on the mountain overlooking the city and the famous harbour and the equally iconic Sugar Loaf Mountain, to the Celeron Steps and Maracanã Stadium to the world famous beach at Copacabana, Rio has it all.

But the unique Brazilian charm is not just about the big cities. Head out into the wilds, where there are good roads and an excellent bus system and the small villages and towns offer something completely different but still eschewing that Samba style.
The small town of Paroty, 4 hours or so out of Rio, is a bit like a Scottish lakeside town with small bijou shops and houses, little cafes and excellent restaurants surrounded by the mountains and, in this case, a sea inlet. But when the town is in celebration mode it comes alive with Samba music, great costumes and plenty of happy and smiling faces young and old. The national drink, Caipirinha, flows freely and the entertainment is plentiful.

If you are looking for peace and quiet then the World Heritage site, Ilha Grande offers just that with its beautiful beaches, abundant wildlife and forest laden hills. No motorised vehicles are allowed on the island so it’s a haven of tranquility.
