This itinerary is designed to give you a glimpse of the unique and diverse experiences that await you on your trip to East Africa. Explore some of the most iconic national parks and reserves in the region, including the Masai Mara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. Witness the annual Great Migration where millions of thundering hooves of wildebeests and zebras migrate across the ecosystems of Tanzania and Kenya. Visit local communities and learn about their traditions and customs. Join us as we explore the vibrant cities, ancient cultures, and awe-inspiring natural beauty of Kenya and Tanzania.

Day 1: Fly to Nairobi

Begin your East African Adventure by taking a direct flight from London to Nairobi, Kenya. Referred to as the ‘Safari Capital of Africa’, Nairobi is the perfect jumping-off point for safaris in Kenya. Spend the night at Sheraton Four Points (or similar).

Days 2 & 3: Amboseli National Park

In the morning, take a custom safari vehicle ride towards southern Kenya. Arrive in time to enjoy lunch in Amboseli National Park, “Home of the African Elephant”. Check-in at Ol Tukai Lodge (or similar) for a 2-night stay.

For two days, explore this 392 square km park, crowned with Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Go on thrilling safari drives that will take you through Amboseli’s different ecosystems from swamps and marches to acacia woodlands, open plains and rocky thornbush. Apart from creating a scenic landscape, the different habitats host a wide range of wildlife including large herds of elephants, lions, hyenas, jackals, giraffes, zebras, baboons, monkeys, impalas and more, which you can observe with a view of Mt Kilimanjaro in the background complementing the picturesque scene.

Day 4: Moshi, West Kilimanjaro | Arusha | Tarangire

Start the day with an approximately 2-hour drive crossing the Kenya – Tanzania border, Namanga. Arrive in time for lunch in the bustling city of Arusha, the “Safari Capital of Tanzania”.

Continue the drive to cover about 140 km until you reach Tarangire. Check-in at the Kirurumu Tarangire (or similar) for an overnight stay. This wonderful birding destination acquired its name from the Tarangire River which runs through the Tarangire National park. Spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying the relaxing atmosphere amidst the colossal baobabs, grassy plains and huge herds of elephants.

Day 5: Ngorongoro highlands

In the early morning, go on a game drive and watch big groups of buffalos, lions and leopards amongst other animals as they roam around. Keep an eye out for gerenuk, the rare antelope.

Afterwards, take a 3-4 hour drive to the Ngorongoro highlands. Check-in at Pamoja Farm Lodge (or similar) for 2 nights. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Today, visit one of the world’s greatest natural wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage site, Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is formed from the collapse of a massive volcano and now serves as a natural enclosure for a diverse range of wildlife including lions, elephants, zebras, flamingos, and endangered rhinos among others.

Take a picnic lunch in the crater surrounded by roaming animals. Enjoy game drives and guided walks in the crater, as well as cultural experiences with the local Maasai people, who have lived in harmony with the land and its animals for generations. The area also has a rich archaeological history, with evidence of early human settlements dating back millions of years.

Days 7 & 8: Serengeti National Park

Spend the next 2 days exploring Tanzania’s oldest park and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Serengeti National Park. Check-in at Pamoja Serengeti Camp for a 2-night stay

Enjoy game drives and guided walks through the park, witnessing an array of African wildlife including giraffes, cheetahs, buffaloes, and antelopes along with some of the world’s most stunning natural landscapes. The park is prominently famed for being home to the annual wildebeest migration, the largest herd movement of animals on the planet and a spectacular sight that can only be witnessed in this part of the world.

Wake up to the sounds of wildlife and embark on a morning game drive to witness lions on the prowl and elephants at play. Soar over the vast plains in a hot air balloon and watch as the sun sets over the savannah. Immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Maasai people, learning about their traditions and way of life.

Day 9: Fly to Masai Mara

Today, bid farewell to Tanzania as you go back to Kenya. Go to the airstrip and take a short flight to Tarime, Tanzania. From there, transfer to Migori in Kenya. Finally, catch another flight to Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve, the Masai Mara National Park.

Arrive at Masai Mara in the afternoon and check-in at Mara Leisure Camp (or similar) for a 2-night stay. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure either relaxing amidst the wildlife ambience or venturing on a safari drive to explore the wonders of Masai Mara.

Day 10: Masai Mara

Masai Mara has long been a favourite destination for explorers, royal families, celebrities, wildlife photographers, and award-winning filmmakers, cementing its reputation as a must-visit location. Embark on a game drive with expert rangers to witness the extraordinary concentration of wildlife including majestic lions, elusive leopards, and graceful giraffes. Soar high on a hot air balloon ride for an aerial view of the park, or explore the savannah on a nature hike or horseback safari. Learn about the Maasai culture by visiting a traditional village and witnessing their dances and songs. Witness the Great Migration, a breathtaking natural phenomenon that sees millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles moving across the plains.

Day 11: Lake Naivasha, Great Rift Valley

In the morning, head to the serene freshwater Lake Naivasha situated in Kenya’s Rift Valley. Spend the rest of the day at leisure with several optional activities to enjoy. You can go for a relaxing walk, make community visits to explore the culture or take a boat tour to see the diverse wildlife, including hippos, waterbucks, and a wide variety of bird species. Spend the night at Lake Naivasha Simba Lodge.

Days 12 & 13: Lake Naivasha |Fly to the UK

On the morning of the 12th day of your trip, sample different types of premium Kenyan tea while enjoying an informative presentation on the life and work of conservationist Joy Adamson. Visit the local museum which showcases Adamson’s incredible achievements in wildlife conservation and features her world-famous lioness, Elsa.

In the afternoon, head to Jomo Kenyatta airport and catch a flight back to London. Alternatively, you can extend your adventure by spending extra time unwinding on the tropical white sand beaches of the coast.
